Sea Turtle Sculpt part2 : Above is the patterned flipper, just below it is completed left flipper.
Same view but showing the body as well.
Left flipper view from front.
Finished right flipper.
I will post more pics as i continue to progress.
Time taken: so far i have spent 11 to 12 hours over a three day period
Materials:
(1)old computer mouse as the base armature.
(2)sculpting tools.
(3)Clay NSP medium sulphur free plasteline
(4)wood skewer sticks.
Special Thanks to:
Carl Forsythe for giving me the clay and sculpting tools
What is next:
(1) detail head, underbelly carapace, rear flipper details, smoothing , make coral reef sea weed base.
My Thoughts:
still a lot of minor details, smoothing cleaning up needed. i cant say i got it species accurate ,odds are i have characteristics of two or more species. im not really concerned about that as this project is simply to see what i can do! in the future i will be more detailed oriented and keep it as accurate to one species as possible. i was suprised to see how many species of sea turtles there is.
